Brian Shaw

Brian Shaw is the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CIBC World Markets.  Prior to this role, Brian was the head of CIBC’s Global Equities Division.

Brian is an experienced financial industry executive with extensive knowledge in capital markets and investing activities. A private investor and corporate adviser, Brian serves on multiple boards of directors including Encana Corporation, NuVista Energy Ltd., Manulife Bank of Canada and Manulife Trust Company.

Brian is an active supporter of several institutions.  He is a Director of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Chairman of the TMX IP Governance Committee, and a member of the CFA Society of Toronto’s Governance and Nominating Committee.
